- New QuestionKevin’s Answer: Beth, thank you for your thoughtful question. I absolutely understand and respect that many residents moved here for its affordability and strong sense of community — that’s something I value deeply as well. My goal isn’t to transform this into an exclusive or high-cost community, but to ensure that the amenities and infrastructure are maintained in a way that protects our property values and quality of life long-term. Any increases in dues should be carefully considered, transparent, and tied directly to improvements that benefit the entire community, not just a select few. As for the restaurant, I believe it should be self-sustaining as much as possible. I support investments that make it more attractive and cost-effective, but I do not support endlessly pouring money into it without a clear return or benefit to residents. We need to prioritize wisely. Ultimately, I want to make sure decisions reflect the will and needs of the full community — not just those with deeper pockets. Your concerns are valid, and I welcome ongoing dialogue to ensure we stay true to the character that brought so many of us here.

Name Beth What is your question for Kevin? You are wealthy. and can afford the higher cost dues to bring the community to the standards you and your supporters want. What about those who moved here because it was a nice, middle class community? And how much more do you think should be poured into the restaurant? Home price are down and the dues are making people not want to buy in here. Sent from Kevin for HOA - New Question
Kevin’s Answer:
I appreciate this question as it touches on a critical and ongoing discussion in our community. The decision to remove oak trees and replace them with different species is complex and requires careful consideration of both the benefits and challenges associated with these beautiful trees.
Oak trees provide significant benefits, including essential shade and habitat sustainability, which enrich our community’s aesthetic and ecological balance. However, I am aware of the concerns regarding the damage their roots can cause to infrastructure like driveways.
If elected to the board, I propose a balanced approach. Rather than removing oak trees indiscriminately, we should evaluate each tree’s impact individually. Where necessary, replacement should be considered, but with added protective measures like bio barriers to prevent future root-related issues.
I support continuing the efforts of the committee currently investigating this matter, advocating for selective replacement based on thoroughly assessed and regularly reviewed criteria. Our goal should always be to maintain the beauty and health of our community environment while addressing practical concerns effectively.
